    Hard Disk Capacity Determines Technical Substitution

    Electronic products are a kind of commodity with obvious technology substitution. Introducing new revolutionary technology at a certain time node will bring about a leap in performance or user experience. For example:

    The second generation and the eighth generation of Core processors have improved their comprehensive performance by more than 30% compared with their previous generation's products of the same price and grade, which is the progress brought by the technology generation difference.

    Take the iPhone X and the iPhone 7/8 for example. From the quality of camera imaging to face recognition, technological advances have brought obvious improvements, and of course, side effects of Qi Liuhai's new technology.

    At present, the capacity of mechanical hard disk directly reflects the technical disparity in the market.

    The mechanical hard disks with 4TB and the following capacities adopt air filling and PMR vertical recording technology. They can pack up to 1-5 disks (5 disks air-packed hard disks are now mostly replaced by helium-packed disks).

    Helium filling, PMR vertical recording technology and 5-7 disk packages are used from 6TB (or when Seagate's monitoring hard disk SkyHawk 8TB capacity starts to be enabled) to 10TB capacity.

    More than 12TB is filled with helium, SMR/HAMR imbrication recording/thermal assistant recording, and 5-7 discs are packaged.

    Here, from the perspective of home users, the characteristics of different positioning mechanical hard disks under popular science——

    Enterprise hard disk:

    Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF average failure-free time) > 2 million hours;

    Uncorrectable Bit Error Rate (UBER unrecoverable bit error rate) < 1/10-_;;

    Availability (hrs/day x days/wk): 7 x 24 hours of uninterrupted operation;

    RAID disk array optimization or resonance cancellation technology;

    More noisy reading and writing noise.

    NAS Storage Hard Disk:

    Because of the difference mentioned above, there are also different capacities and hard disk performance indicators.

    One million hours less than Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF average fault-free time);

    Uncorrectable Bit Error Rate (UBER unrecoverable bit error rate) < 10 - _ (e.g. Iron Wolf Pro);

    Uncorrectable Bit Error Rate (UBER unrecoverable bit error rate) < 10-_ (e.g. WD Red);

    7 x 24 hours 365 days continuous power operation;

    RAID disk array optimization or vibration cancellation technology or array read-write waiting technology;

    Optimized silent reading and writing.

    Desktop Hard Disk:

    One million hours less than Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF average fault-free time);

    Ordinary level: Uncorrectable Bit Error Rate (UBER unrecoverable bit error rate) < 10 - _;;

    Fever level: Uncorrectable Bit Error Rate (UBER unrecoverable bit error rate) < 10 - _ (e.g. BaraCude Pro);

    In terms of noise, there are great individual differences among different models. There are hard disks with loud reading and writing voice and quiet ones.

    Monitoring hard disk:

    One million hours less than Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF average fault-free time);

    Capacity > 8TB: Uncorrectable Bit Error Rate (UBER unrecoverable bit error rate) < 10 - (e.g. Sky Hawk);

    Capacity < 6TB: Uncorrectable Bit Error Rate (UBER unrecoverable bit error rate) < 10 - _ (e.g. Sky Hawk);

    if you want to ntfs partition recovery, please use the data recovery tools.

    Continuous multi-code streamwriting optimization or vibration cancellation technology;

    7 x 24 hours 365 days continuous power operation;

    But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using Movable-type on several
    websites for about a year and am worried about seitching too another platform.

    I have heard fantastic tings about blogengine.net. Is there a
    wayy I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it? Any kind of heop
    would bbe really appreciated!
